Happenings

Been a few months since I've posted anything. Not that too much has really happened in the meantime - still subbing and the whatnot (should we find a different expression already?!?). Not that April has been boring or anything. Jennie bought tickets for Ben Folds in Oshkosh, which was really good. We ended up running into our old supervisor from AF (who had first exposed me to Ben) and saw some other interesting bands; a local college band which will remain un-named, Ben Lee-whose claim to fame is apparently having a song used for background music on The Weeds, and Jack's Mannequin.

We also bought a new-used minivan at the end of March. We'd been contemplating it for awhile, and the starter went on the Nissan, which was the final straw. Let me tell you, if you ever need a new car, go at the end of the month. I think they were more desperate for a sale than we were for the "new" car. Thus far, it's pretty good. Still working on getting the headrests for the back row - apparently the old owner considered those an accessory and no one at Berstrom thought to inquire as to their whereabouts. Luckily we don't currently have need for that back row, but nonetheless, just in case we'd obviously like some.

On the job front: still applying for jobs. I went to a Career Fair at Chicago last weekend, which was interesting and got an email from an academy/selective admission school inviting me to check out their website and email back how I think I can contribute, so we'll see where that goes. There are some other possibilities here in WI, but I'm open to pretty much anywhere but HI and AK (learn your abbreviations!).
